Vendor & Business Payment Platform Comparison

A separate market scan for paying vendors, contractors, businesses, expert witnesses, suppliers, and global payees. Client, claimant, refund, and consumer payout platforms are compared separately.

Version 1.0 - June 2026
Section 1

Comparison Frame

Vendor and business payments are payables problems. They often need onboarding, tax, invoice context, approvals, reconciliation, and sometimes global rails. That makes them different from consumer-style payment links.

Payee Platform

Trolley

Public pricing is comparatively transparent. Relevant for contractors, creators, affiliates, expert payees, and global payee onboarding.

AP Platform

Tipalti

Relevant when the problem includes tax collection, supplier onboarding, ERP integration, fraud screening, and global payables.

Infrastructure

Modern Treasury, Moov, Dwolla, Stripe

Relevant when the buyer wants deeper control over payment operations, ledgers, compliance workflow, and reconciliation.

Keep this separate from individual payouts. If the recipient is a person getting a legal disbursement, refund, or claimant payment, the paying-people comparison is the closer reference.
Section 2

Vendor Matrix

These platforms matter later for business payees. They are not the answer to the original "pay a person over email" workflow.

Section 3

Implementation Paths

The comparison does not require one implementation path. Vendor and business payments can be handled through payee platforms, AP platforms, wallet networks, enterprise payout programs, or infrastructure.

Trolley is the lightweight payee-platform example, Tipalti is the AP/tax/global-payables example, PayPal/Hyperwallet is the wallet-network and enterprise-payout example, and Modern Treasury/Moov/Dwolla/Stripe are infrastructure examples.
